Clock Faces - Personality Plus
Clock faces are as individual as human faces. Some smile when you approach, others frown. Still others go out of their way to demonstrably ignore you. And while some clock faces are like an open book; they love nothing more than to tell you their life's story, others are more reserved and discreet.
Although individually unique, most clock faces find that they do have much in common with other clock faces of particular categories or groups.
Some of these groups are:
- Roman Clock Faces. As the name suggests, these clock faces use Roman Numerals. They are usually the "responsible ones. " The ones other clock faces are most likely to go to for level headed advice. They are also, more often than not, the ones chosen as prefects in " Clock Face School ".
- Story Clock Faces. These are the clock faces with fairy-tales, nursery rhymes or cartoon characters depicted on them. Unlike the Roman Clock Faces, Story Clock Faces can be a little bit naughty, just like the children they aim to please. The Alice in Wonderland Clock Face, in particular, is often chided for "chiming out of bounds ".
- Digital Clock Faces. These little fellows try to be sensible but can be easily led astray if mixing with the wrong crowd. When brought before the Clock Face Magistrate, similar stories of "He doesn't feel like he fits in " or "always an outsider " abound. If the right levels of instruction and discipline are received, however, most Digital Clock Faces will outgrow the unacceptable behaviours.
- Printable Clock Faces. One click and they're anybody's. Enough said.
- Blank Clock Faces. Blank Clock Faces are the Kindergarten teachers of the Clock Face World. They teach children how to tell time by encouraging them to draw the hands and numbers on the clock face. Creativity and imagination is applauded (They can even write "Cartier " if they want to.)
- Antique Clock Faces. These are the Grand Old Ladies in Clock Face World. With not even a hint of make-up, these ladies have nothing to prove. They sit high and proud, surveying all around them and voicing their approval or disapproval with the tone of their chimes.
So much variety, so many personalities. Each one ready to uplift, enhance, revive our spirits.
And we are eager for them to do it. So much so that we seek out clock faces in whatever form we can obtain them. In this age of "techno-get-whatever-you-want-and-get-it-virtually-now ", we can download pictures of clock faces as screensavers for our computers in any style we like. We can also print out decorative paper clock faces and inserts to personalise our cherished timekeepers or give their spirits a lift.
So, the next time you walk past a clock, don't just read the time. Instead, look into its face and see if you can read its personality.
For a bit of excitement, wander casually into a clock shop and drink in the vibe. Chances are, there's a party going on!
Yep, looking into a clock's face can be revealing. After all, it's probably looking back.
