Countdown Clocks

You may need a countdown clock if you've ever found yourself checking the calendar, counting the months, perhaps counting days on your fingers then "guess-timating"the time left until an important event? Perhaps that island cruise you worked so hard to save for just isn't getting here quickly enough. Maybe it's your first wedding anniversary approaching and you don't want to forget it, lest you spend the next twenty-five years in the doghouse.

For piece of mind at your fingertips you could use a countdown clock.

Countdown clocks are exactly that - clocks that count down time. They are a quirky way to count down the days, weeks, hours, minutes and seconds to an important event. Whether a wedding, vacation, retirement, or baby's due date, a countdown clock makes a thoughtful and imaginative gift.

Countdown clocks are usually decorated in the theme of the event being counted down. For example, a wedding countdown clock will have wedding related motifs on it. A vacation countdown clock will be decorated with scenes of far away places and a pregnancy countdown clock will be adorned with everything "baby".

Some countdown clocks do have more generic or interchangeable designs so that they can be used again for the next big event.

Even employers are using countdown clocks more and more these days to motivate staff and remind them of an approaching deadline. As an individual motivator, countdown clocks can be used to strengthen our resolve and accomplish important personal goals.

Several online countdown clocks are also available. Many are free countdown clocks that can be installed as a screensaver or on a web page as a pop-up.

And for the children, a Christmas countdown clock lets them know just how many more sleeps until Santa Claus visits again . and how many more days they need to be good.

There are even free online countdown clocks for movie releases. These film countdown clocks can be installed on a web page by simply copying and pasting the required countdown clock html code. Desktop downloads are also available.

In these fast-paced days of deadlines and needing everything done "yesterday", it's a good idea to have a resource to help us identify just how impending an impending deadline is.

For example, a student (let's call him, Trevor) has a big assignment due in a little over two weeks. He knows the date due and has all of his research together. He now has simply to organise his notes and write the paper. Problem is, his sister, whom he loves dearly, is getting married in a week and he is one of the groomsmen. The wedding is to be held at a seaside resort, a few days' drive away. How will Trevor be able to enjoy the wedding without worrying constantly about the assignment? Well, Trevor has a countdown clock. His sister gave it to him when he started university so he could count down the time until graduation. He instead uses it to count down assignment deadlines and exam dates.

By seeing how much time is left on the countdown clock, Trevor is able to quickly calculate how much of his assignment must be completed per day, allowing for time taken up by the wedding. He is then able to focus on completing all necessary work up until the wedding date and enjoy the break, knowing there will be ample time left on return to complete the rest.

Trevor's paper gained a high distinction and Trevor's girlfriend caught the bouquet.

Another countdown soon to be on the cards.
